Continuing Resolution Update

Since the first session of the 110th Congress, several initiatives have been instituted to limit government spending. The most significant initiative is House Joint Resolution 20 which freezes 2007 budgets at the 2006 spending rate. All federal agencies except for the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security are faced with the imposing prospect of making progress with their budgets frozen at last year’s levels. Federal agency directors have been forced to rethink their spending and better manage their finances to meet their missions.
